It is with sorrow, we, the family of Mima announce the passing of our sister and aunt. Mima passed away on Saturday January 23, 2010, at Seaview Manor Nursing Home in Glace Bay, where she had been a resident for 10 years.

Mima will be sadly missed by sisters, Jean Petrie, Vancouver; Lois Atkins, Scarborough, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Mima was predeceased by brothers Gordon Douglas, Harold Alexander, Malcolm Ernest, Clarence, Donald Smith, and sister Irma Marie.

Visitation for Mima Roper will be held Tuesday evening 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Condolences

To The Family of the Late Mima Aileen Roper: I am writing to express my sincere sympathy on the death of your loved one, Mima. Those whose lives she touched will not soon forget Mima’s contribution to the community. Words can never put into perspective the sorrow and emptiness that is suffered at such a loss as yours. I do hope your pain is eased somewhat by knowing that others too feel sadness and want to share that very heavy burden. I will be thinking of you all in the days ahead. My prayers are with you. Sincerely,
— Rodger Cuzner, MP Cape Breton-Canso
